12月15日消息，据国外媒体报道，谷歌本周一进入了一个新的领域，推出一个新的URL地址缩写的服务。这项服务的名称是“Goo.gl”。

与目前引人瞩目的TinyURL和Bit.ly等缩写的网络地址不同，Goo.gl不是用户可以通过一个单独的网站进行访问的通用链接的缩写地址。相反，它是建在谷歌产品中的，是从谷歌的浏览器工具条和谷歌的Feedburner RSS服务开始的。这两项服务现在都可以创建连接到内容来源的缩写的Goo.gl地址，同时使用比较少的字符。这对于像在Twitter那样的地方共享信息是非常重要的。Twitter网站对于内容容量有限制。

这个功能是与谷歌工具条上的一个共享按钮一起推出的。这个共享按钮能够让用户共享他们在许多社交服务上的网页。至于与FeedBurner的集成，谷歌现在向传输内容的用户提供一种方法以便自动地直接向Twitter网站发布帖子。这种方法将帮助把字符数量保持在最低水平。

谷歌称，这项缩写服务是稳定和快速的。谷歌还将对搜索索引采取同样的安全措施以阻止可能包含恶意软件或者钓鱼攻击的网页。

 谷歌在官方博客中发表的一个介绍这项服务的帖子中称，谷歌也许最终将把这项服务作为一个单独的网站。但是，目前这项服务暂时建在谷歌的产品中。这种功能允许第三方网站把谷歌的Goo.gl缩写链接建在自己的产品中。
